Michaéla Schippers

Michaéla Schippers is Professor of Behaviour and Performance Management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She holds a PhD from the Psychology Department at the Free University in Amsterdam.

Her passion is to let other people shine and to use evidence-based challenges to optimize performance of people and to make the world a better place.
She does this on a personal note, next to her job as a professor. Her life-long hobby and passion next to science is Taekwon-Do.

Her work was published in several leading academic journals, such as ARP, ASQ, JOMS, Personnel Psychology, and AMLE. Dr. Schippers was a visiting scholar at Harvard Business School. Dr. Schippers is scientific director of the Erasmus Center of Study and Career Success and Comenius Senior Fellow.

Michaéla Schippers

Prof. Schippers research interest covers goalsetting, team reflexivity, team performance, academic performance as well as ikigai (i.e. purpose in life), and life goals. She coined the term “life crafting” as a way to optimize performance and happiness. Other research interests include diversity, new ways of working, and social exclusion/inclusion. She has started a “Great Citizens Movement”, a grassroots movement that reflects on what the ideal world could look like and what we can do to realize this ideal world. She is also the founder of ikigaitv.nl, a platform for positive psychology  (https://ikigaitv.nl/)
